  • The Arc’s HealthMeet: For cognitive, intellectual or developmental disabilities this program provides free community-based health assessments and individualized recommendations for follow-up care.
  • VisionAware provides basic information about adjusting to vision loss, including tips for adapting your home and daily living.
  • Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center: Resources on physical activity options designed for people with mobility impairments.
  • NCHPAD’s 14 Weeks to a Healthier You: A personal exercise and nutrition program for individuals with physical disabilities.
  • Public TV stations also offer fitness programs such as Sit and Be Fit.
  • Mall Walking Program: Groups of people who meet up at your local Mall (typically early before shoppers begin shopping) and walk or wheel in a climate-controlled, safe, flat environment.
